We build artistic fourth spaces

Most of us move between three: home, school or work, and somewhere we gather. The fourth is the one designed for connection, creativity, and care.

We build what's missing: a fourth space of art, play, and connection

Three spaces build lives. We shape the fourth

01
Home
Where we begin. Family, kin, the inherited world.
02
School & Work
Where we perform. Tasks, grades, deliverables, roles.
03
Community
Where we gather. The mosque, the team, the centre.
04
The Fourth Space
Where we reconnect. Through art, play, and care.

Three pillars, one practice

We help others build capacity for this work

We partner with schools, nonprofits, and community organizations to deliver arts-integrated, play-based, and trauma-informed programming. Drawing on a decade of work across Canada, Pakistan, the UK, and East Africa, we work alongside your team (not above them), leaving behind the tools, language, and confidence to keep going long after we do.

ii.

Dance, poetry, and visual art became the language for stories no single tradition could hold on its own, and a circle of young artists who'd found each other.

What participants say

While arts initiatives are sometimes perceived as a luxury, they are, in fact, essential tools for integration, resilience, and community building. The Fourth Space clearly understands and operationalizes this principle.

After the Aawaaz program, not only did I learn about the different domains of health but also my daughters did too, and even months later it's had an impact on them. They don't eat junk food anymore and take care of their physical health, but they also know that how they interact with people affects their social health, so they are quicker to forgive each other and to speak to each other in politer ways. I feel lucky that we are learning this content.

I learnt that I can take small steps to affect and change my own mental health, and help my friends. Medical doctors aren't the only solution that exists.
